Inishturk -Life on Ireland's remotest island.

INISHTURK

(Wild Boar Island)

Inishturk is Ireland's most remote inhabited island lying on the western edge of Europe. There are 58 full time residents on an island of 2.3 square miles and people have been living here on and off since 4000 BC. Ireland’s islands over the past century have suffered from mass emigration to the Irish mainland and further afield but with the help of government and a determination to preserve their way of life, the islanders hang on and thrive.
